Germany’s Leo Tran secured by far the largest tournament cash of his career to date after he topped a field of 339 players in the 2016 partypoker WPT National Rozvadov Main Event to get his hands on a cool €75,000.

WPT Rozvadov Main Event Final Table Payouts

Place Player Prize
1 Leo Tran €75,000
2 Harmjan Poel €51,166
3 JC Streicher €31,954
4 Daniel Schumacher €23,767
5 Itay Bernshtein €17,924
6 Markus Hofer €14,623
7 Patrick Beuter €12,148
8 Shay Vodka €9,573
9 Vitezslav Pesta €7,295

Prior to this outstanding victory, Tran had a solitary cash on his Hendon Mob page, a 49th place finish in a €300 buy-in event in Vienna in May 2016 that banked him €1,600. Now he has a brace of live cashes, and one that any poker player in the world would be proud of.

Over the two starting flights, and the Day 2, the 339 strong field was reduced to a more manageable 19 players, and three of those were competing in the partypoker last-longer promotion where the deepest running player would win their €1,100 buy-in back.

Istvan Nagy was one of those last-longer players, but he fell in 16th place, leaving Velican Sahin and Patrick Marquardt to compete for the €1,100 refund. Sahin then fell in 13th place, meaning when Marquardt bust in 10th place for €5,315, he also received an additional €1,100.

Each of the nine finalists locked up at least €7,295 for their efforts, but Vitezslav Pesta would win no more as he fell in ninth-place, and was followed towards the cashier’s desk by Shay Vodka, Patrick Beuter, Markus Hofer, and Itay Bernshtein.

The players still in contention for the title gained some more elbow room with the exits of Daniel Schumacher and JC Streicher, the latter’s exit leaving Leo Harmjan and Tran to lock horns heads-up.

It was a one-on-one battle that went Tran’s way, with the final hand seeing Tran’s beat Harmjan’s to secure the title and the €75,000 first place prize.
